Here are two iconic images that have a scary resemblance. Today we remember those who lost there lives 8 years ago.
The first photo, the flag-raising on Iwo Jima is an icon: a photograph instantly recognizable and forever associated with World War II. This was by photographer Joe Rosenthal on February 23, 1945.
The right photo is compliments of New Jersey newspaper photographer Thomas E. Franklin, and the three firefighters in the photo are William Eisengrein, George Johnson and Daniel McWilliams.
